Faith in action - serving our neighbors near and far
Putting love into action through community support
At Wolfe Island Pastoral Charge, we believe that faith without action is incomplete. We are called not only to worship together but to actively serve those in need, working for justice, compassion, and human dignity in our community and beyond. Our outreach programs reflect our commitment to being the hands and feet of Christ in a world that desperately needs love, support, and hope.
Through partnerships with local organizations and the generous support of our congregation, we are making a real difference in the lives of individuals and families facing hardship. Every donation, every volunteer hour, and every act of kindness contributes to building a more compassionate and just community.
We regularly collect and donate non-perishable food items, personal care products, and household essentials to local food banks serving Wolfe Island and the greater Kingston area. Food insecurity affects many families, and our contributions help ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.
How to help: Bring donations to Sunday services or contact us to arrange drop-off.
We support homeless shelters in Kingston with financial contributions, clothing, hygiene products, and bedding. Homelessness is a complex challenge, and we're committed to partnering with organizations that provide shelter, meals, and pathways to stable housing for those experiencing homelessness.
Items needed: Warm clothing, blankets, toiletries, socks, and monetary donations.
We respond to specific needs in our local community by providing meals for families in crisis, financial assistance for those facing emergencies, transportation help for medical appointments, and practical support for neighbors experiencing difficult times.
Need help? We serve with confidentiality and compassion. Contact us to discuss how we can assist.
Throughout the year, we organize special campaigns including Christmas hampers for families in need, back-to-school supply drives, winter clothing collections, and Easter food baskets. These seasonal efforts bring joy and practical support to those who need it most.
Stay involved: Watch for announcements about upcoming campaigns.
There are many ways you can join us in serving others and making a positive impact in our community:
Bring non-perishable food, clothing, or household items to our church. We accept donations year-round.
Monetary donations allow us to respond quickly to urgent needs and support our partner organizations.
Help sort donations, deliver items, or coordinate outreach campaigns. Every hour makes a difference.
Pray for those experiencing hardship and advocate for policies that address poverty and homelessness.
Working together for greater impact
We are grateful to partner with several outstanding organizations in the Kingston area that share our commitment to serving those in need. These partnerships allow us to maximize our impact and ensure that our resources reach those who need them most.
Through collaborations with food banks, homeless shelters, family support services, and other community organizations, we're part of a broader network of compassion working to address poverty, homelessness, and food insecurity in our region.
Our outreach efforts are changing lives. Through the generosity of our congregation and the dedication of our volunteers, we've been able to:
"Every act of kindness, no matter how small, creates ripples of hope and healing. Together, we are building a more compassionate community where everyone is valued and supported."
Whether you can donate goods, contribute financially, volunteer your time, or simply spread awareness, your involvement makes a real difference. Together, we can bring hope, dignity, and practical support to those who need it most.
